About

As an East Coast transplant to Los Angeles, I am continually amazed by the profusion of plant-life surrounding me here. In spite of the ongoing drought, flowers bloom and grow everywhere, whether or not humans are paying attention. They are independent of us, bursting out everywhere from the Freeway to the backyard. Nature is both omnipresent and glorious in the urban landscape… in a word, casual. This Blog investigates the often-overlooked flora that make LA the magical place it is.
